music can’t separate from our daily life, from children until old- age. music has so many functions. music functions as a media to express our feeling. music functions as a tool to increase intelligence. Since we are in pregnancy, our mother has already listened music. music functions as a way to form silent ness. A mother sings sleeping song (nina bobok) to sleep her child. music functions as an education facility. Students receive music lesson which is included in a curriculum. music functions as an accompaniment to clear theme of an event. We listen film music when we are watching TV. We also often watch gamelan music in culture’s events. All of it shows that music is important in human’s life.

music had close relationship with human resource. music education functions as a tool to increase human resources. A good music education helps to form humans’ good characterization. In reaching something, it is need time and process. music students will try to solve every problem with the best way. They will be a stronger person after passing the process of music education. music trains them to have high discipline and accuracy, also precise. The music education is important because it can balance the function of right and left brain. Right brain functions in creativity and musicality, and has long term memory. In contrary, left brain functions in account, analysis, and logic; and has a short term memory. Even though both brains have different function, every individual has inclination to use one dominance part. A good human resource is a human who has qualified characterization. Combination of high intelligence and good characterization is a tag of superior human resource.

A child who receives music education usually can learn another lessons (mathematics, physics, biology, chemicals, etc.) quickly. music can increase heart pulsation and blood pressure. music can loose someone’s stress. music can cure sick person. Classical music gives the best effect of relaxation. This silent music also uses to cure patient of heart attack.

music functions as manager of rhythmic. A plant will grow well if it gets enough food and good stimulus. Moreover, humans have sleeping cyclist, heart pulsation, etc. which must be kept, not to cause some illness: diabetic, cancer, and breath disorder. For information, music therapy which is done with therapist is able to loose depression.

Nowadays, I can see so many people who use drugs; from low class until upper class, only for satisfying their want. As a good citizen, I think that they must be given lessons about the damage of using drugs. Drugs broke nation’s life that nation cannot develop without supporting by supportive, dynamic, and modern human resources. Last time, I hear popular news that actors and actresses use drugs to satisfy a passion. A famous rock singer (Achmad Albar) is caught by police because he is known in using drugs. Moreover, n ambassadors of fighting drugs are known in using drugs. Roy Marten is caught a few times after giving seminar by BNN (Badan Narkotika Nasional) about the damage of using drugs. A young actress, whose name Sheilla Marsha, is caught when she is using drugs with her friends at a hotel in Pluit.

What is the damage of using drugs? I can not explain one by one; but in simply, drugs damage our body and soul. Our body is exampled as a filter which functions to throw away poison substances. Using drugs or smoking make our body saving the damaged substances. Drugs damage body’s cells and organs, also nerves’ function. The mind and the attitude of the people always aim to obsessive compulsive. Drugs are substances which change someone’s mood (mood altering substance). Often, drugs’ users do violence attitude because the mind which is obsession by drugs and drugs’ using. It is suggested that youngsters do not drugs because drugs can damage their future.

The fatal damage of using drugs is an addiction. Drugs’ users in long time usually will get an addiction. Their life can not free from drugs. Drugs have already been a main food which is consumed everyday. Drugs’ users are difficult to stop their bad habits. The More fatal damage of using drugs is it can cause a death. The death is caused by overdose. Our body can not sustain the poison substances again.

There are many efforts to neutralize the damage of using drugs. The first, it is need a consciousness from the drugs’ users their selves. The second, the family has an important role to support the mental development of drugs’ users. The third, the family can send drugs’ users to rehabilitation place to cure the drugs’ users.

Next some days; we will celebrate 63^rd indonesia’s Independence Day, exactly at 17 August 2008. Together with it, we also celebrate 100^th indonesia’s Nation Rising in year 2008. indonesia nation is independence nation; so as good citizens, we must understand independence signification and do it in our life. We can do something to build our nation without violating the rules of Republic of indonesia. But, we can see many generations who don’t understand independence signification. Young children fight with their children, until they get wound. They damage public facilities; such as they throw away rubbish not in the place, they sketch office’s wall, they break telephone’s cable, etc. Poverty and stupidity are the problems which often grow in our nation. We have task to build our nation to a success as an advanced nation.

There are so many sacrifices which are done by nation’s hero. We can remember the greatness of Bung Karno and Bung Hatta in “Rengasdengklok” event. They did hard struggle to get independence for indonesia nation. At 17 August 1945, proclamation text was read for the first time. Since that time, indonesia nation had been obligated to show independence.

indonesia is independence nation. indonesia is the nation which is free from colonization. Nowadays; every 17 August, it is managed games to grow the spirit of patriotic. We also see that red- white flag is flown at all parts of indonesia. We are proud to be indonesia nation because indonesia is a big nation, in which there are many tribes with its cultural diversity. We can see Indonesian history by visiting Monas (Monumen Nasional), Museum Pancasila, Museum Lubang Buaya (murder of 7 big generals), etc.

Garuda bird shows diversity in indonesia. The total of fur symbols the day of indonesia’s proclamation (17 August 1945), such as: The totals of fur at each wing are 17, the totals of fur at tail are 8, the totals of fur under shield (tail base) are 19, the total of fur at neck are 45. The ribbon which is held by Garuda bird writes motto of indonesia nation, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika which means “Even though it is difference, but it still also one.” The independence signification of Garuda bird is unity. We must honor differences between all tribes to build and develop indonesia. There is a proverb: United is strong, separated is fall down. (Bersatu, kita teguh; bercerai, kita runtuh).

Another independence signification is we give the best for our nation. We can do establishment in all spacious (ideology, politic, economy, social, culture, defense, and safety). Later, we see many political party do political activities. We will do election and all citizens must participate well. Please we success the election! The independence signification of it is we must enjoy and maintain the independence. We hope that our nation is lead by a good leader who can give justice, peace, and safety.
